Extending the project titled “Protection of Biodiversity and Ecosystems in the Parsęta River Basin through Education of Kids and Youth”

We received a letter from the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management on 27 October 2016, confirming that the PL02 Programme Operator gave its consent for extending the scope of our project titled "Protection of Biodiversity and Ecosystems in the Parsęta River Basin through Education of Kids and Youth" in line with the application dated 18 July 2016, submitted by the Union of the Towns and Communes of the Parsęta River Basin.

The scope of our project is thus extended to include an increased number of day-long and 2-day educational workshops for children and young people attending primary and middle schools in the Zachodniopomorskie province. We will organize 37 additional workshops, including 18 two-day workshops and 19 day-long ones, to provide 1,480 more students with training in promotion of biodiversity, share the knowledge of the effect of climate changes on biodiversity and explain the importance of ecosystems. The workshops will be held at the Environmental Education Centre in Lipie. Each participant in the workshops will receive a T-shirt with the project name and information about the co-financing sources as part of project promotion.

The member townships that wish to participate in implementing the extended project are free to indicate the schools attending our workshops.

The amount of additional co-financing from the EEA Financial Mechanism 2009-2014 is PLN 160 650.85. The extended project scope also involves an extended period of project implementation – until 30 April 2017.
